Daycare

FINALLY, a HUGE space designed to be
SAFE & FUN for SMALLER DOGS!

Littles

A Little at North Paw is a dog who weighs ~25lbs or less. This includes the tiniest 2lb teacup Yorkie to the long and lanky or short & bulky Frenchie. Sometimes our Littles have enough zest & weight behind them that they can float between the Littles & Lovable Bigs packs!

We have had a variety of dogs with special needs do well at North Paw.

Lovable Bigs

Lovable Bigs are dogs who are 25-40lbs and already play well with other dogs, have a history of being friendly with smaller dogs, and interact well with humans. We keep our Bigs pack intimate and we have breed preferences and breed restrictions based on our setting and the priority of our focus.

Sometimes our Lovable Bigs are super sweet and calm, are seniors, or are healing from injuries and can float between the Bigs & Littles packs.

If you think you have a dog within the weight range listed (we will verify via vet records), email Northpawdogs@gmail.com.

Snacks

Snack time occurs late morning. This is not intended to be a substitute for breakfast so please ensure your dog eats a good meal before heading to romp with their besties for the day.

If you decide that your dog needs a snack during daycare we will happily serve it in a bowl that we provide. We have a full kitchen complete with a refrigerator, freezer & microwave, so if you have a snack that need to be chilled or heated, we can do this!

Not every dog needs a snack but keep in mind that we pour water into each snack bowl, so this is another great way for us to keep your dog hydrated, along with the drinking bowls that are already set out for them.

If you forget your dog's snack at home we offer a NP Snack wet or dry snack for a nominal fee.

How it Works:
1. Bring snack in a plastic container or bag.
2. Label container with name.
3.Write instructions if needed.

Rest Time

We believe that dogs need a designated rest time, and this is especially critical if they have eaten a snack. Rest time is directly after snacks are served.

Parents are always surprised to see pics and videos of our dogs actually sleeping soundly, whether it's together under our custom canopy or under a sun shade when the weather is nice or inside with calming sounds.

For dogs who are crate training, this is also an excellent time for us to reinforce this training while away from home.

Apparel

Summer Cooling Items
Are these items neccessary for your dog? The answer is, it depends! Both less active (the 'loungers') and very active (the 'rugby players') can both benefit from a good cooling item. We've found that vests have kept dogs cooler in our large yard than bandanas. Vests need to be form-fitting to be effective.

How it Works
1. Label your dog's cooling item & bring in their blue bag.
2. Be sure you leave with the cooling item at check out.
3. Hang the item to dry @ home.

Fall/Winter Weather
Does my dog need a sweater, fleece or coat or the cooler temps? Again, it depends on your dog but if you have a Little, the answer is most likely YES. Lovable Bigs tend to be heartier dogs but even many of them come sporting a layer of protection.

We usually start dressing dogs in a layer when the temps outside are around 50 degrees. If you have a dog who has no, little or thing hair/fur, you may want to start sending their apparel earlier

How it Works:
1. Label your dog's coat.
2. Bring your dog in the coat with harness on OUTSIDE of the coat. You may need to adjust your harness for the cooler months for this.

Packages!

Packages are a great way to save financially! We offer 3 options:

10 Day Package: $340
20 Day Package: $660
30 Day Package: $960

Who can use the Package?
Packages are attached to the pet parent(s) and can be used for any dog within the same family by the expiration date(s). For multiple dogs in a family, 1 dog = 1 package day.

Transfers
Packages are non-transferrable to other families and are non-refundable which is why we highly recommend trying single days first to ensure North Paw and your dog are a good match.

Absences
If a dog takes a break from daycare, the expiration countdown continues. If a dog is absent for more than 2 months, a new fecal test and behavioral evaluation may be required in order to assess if the dog can return, and there is no guarantee that remaining package days can be used. Time used for these tests is included in the expiration countdown.

Expirations
Parents are responsible for remembering the expiration date(s) of their packages while North Paw tracks when package days are used. We are happy to remind you of this information when asked but we do not send reminders of upcoming expiration dates.

All packages expire after 90 days from the date of first use (includes weekends & holidays).

If multiple packages are bought at the same time (I.e. Flash Sale), clients must initiate the use of unused packages within 6mo of the original purchase date or the purchased packages will expire without refund.

If NP is closed on days that are not our designated closed holidays, we will credit these days in your expiration count.

We understand life happens, and, parents assume both the financial benefit and risk when making this purchase. There are no exceptions to this policy.

Behavior Issues
If a dog is asked to leave North Paw, regardless of reason (i.e. health, behavioral concerns), packages are still non-refundable.

Additional Discounts
No additional discounts/stacking discounts (i.e. Multi-Dog Discount) are available when purchasing the already discounted package.

Drop Off
& Pick Up

IMG_8498.JPG

Drop Off

6:30am-9am Mon-Fri. Door locks promptly @ 9am.

Pick Up

3pm-6pm Mon-Fri. The SPIRIT of closing @ 6pm is that dogs have left the property BY 6pm, parents are not pulling into the parking lot at 6pm. It is important that dogs be picked up on time, otherwise staff must stay later than expected and must be compensated.

Late Charges

We understand that life happens sometimes, and, no staff wants to remain after their shifts without being compensated. In fairness to our care team a $10 late charge will apply for any dog picked up past 6pm (6:01pm).

Parents should communicate by 5:45pm at the latest if they even suspect they may not arrive by 6pm for their dog. This allows the Closing Team to start boarding prep for your dog. If this does not occur a charge of $15 will be assessed in addition to any other late fees.

Dogs who are not picked up by 6:05pm will be placed into boarding for the night and owners will be charged an additional boarding fee in addition to the late pick up charge. If a meal must be served, parents will be charged for this Additional Service.

When owners bring their dogs to North Paw they agree to comply with the staff's decisions in these matters.

Though we want to do our best to be understanding, owners who are repeatedly late may be asked to seek service elsewhere.

Early Departures

Dogs cannot come and go from daycare throughout the day (i.e. vet appt in the middle of the day). Pet parents should plan/schedule for other events accordingly.

Illness &
Undesirable Behavior

Dogs-Health

We can only have dogs in good health at daycare. If, for instance, your dog has loose stool, is gagging or coughing, has red or runny eyes, has an open wound, is itching uncontrollably, please keep your dog at home and email to cancel the reservation.

Dogs-Behavior
We believe in using proven dog training techniques to affirm, redirect, and correct behaviors. All dogs deserve equitable attention. If your dog is requiring more staff focus than most dogs we will communicate our recommendations for how to best help your dog, which may include locating another service that is better suited to your dog. North Paw is not required to give advanced notice when a dog needs to discontinue daycare and it should not be an expectation that North Paw continue to work with dogs who require a high level of assistance.

It can be difficult for parents to hear that their dogs need help, and we will always do our best to be direct and clear.

We strive to notify parents when we notice that dogs have arrived in a physical or emotional condition that is poor or questionable. Next steps will depend on this condition, our ability to care for the animal, and the pet parents' response.

North Paw is not a medical facility and does not act as a vet. It is fully expected that all pet parents are able to arrange for prompt pick up of their animal from daycare if they receive communication that there is a concern. If an animal leaves early due to a medical or behavioral issue the reservation is charged in full.

We reserve all rights in making these determinations and trust in our highly qualified care team to do so. Parents agree to these terms when bringing their dogs to North Paw.

Parents

Our Care Team members are exceptional humans who work incredibly hard to do their best to ensure every dog has the best experience possible. There are many variables, some of which are unpredictable, that the Care Team encounter throughout the day. Drop off and pick up are very busy times and we strive to be efficient.

Please be respectful, patient and kind otherwise you will be asked to seek service elsewhere & you will NOT be refunded service fees including unused package days.
